Glenda Powell Guiding & Blackwater Salmon Fishery
I welcome you to the first of our weekly newsleters which will provide information on the Munster Blackwater in Ireland. I will keep you up to date with Blackwater Salmon Fishery catches, water levels and fishing conditions on the river. I have provided links to our websites which will give more information on beats, tackle tips, location and tuition/guiding. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my customers - old friends and new - the very best for the 2016 season and hope to see you all soon on the banks of the wonderful Blackwater.

Ireland Angling Expo
I am almost packed and ready to go to this fantastic show in Dublin. Doors open 10am tomorrow. The show is a busy show with lots to do for young and old. If you have never tried fly casting then this is your opportunity as there is free casting tuition, and fly tying from APGAI-Ireland members. I will be there to answer any questions that you may have and there are lots of demonstrators who will help you also. The show is an angling show, and has game angling, sea fishing and coarse fishing. I look forward to seeing some of you there. https://www.facebook.com/Ireland-Angling-Expo-169099426455776/?fref=nf

The opening weeks on the River Blackwater 2016
Coinciding with one of the wettest winters on record, fishing to this point has been difficult to say the least. We have managed a handful of days on the river and that February springer still eludes us. The river level has not dropped below 1.12 meters on the Ballyduff bridge gauge all month. and in fact this is as low as it has been since November. You can be sure though, that as I prepare myself for the Ireland Angling Expo this weekend that the River Blackwater will play her usual joke on me. She will be in perfect fishing condition this weekend when it is time for me to leave her. If you would like to fish this weekend please contact me 087 2351260.
