Eleven fish to 10.3lb.
Were caught today (6th)- a remarkable total for just 10 rod days.They were all caught on the upper river.Four fell to fly, six to spinner & one to worms. One grilse caught on the top but one beat 26 miles upstream of the Lodge was absolutely covered in sea-lice!
The total for June is already 19 fish & the Season to Date is 76.
This was the Best Fish of the day.
It weighed 10.3lb & was taken on fly by Jim Shanahan from Castletownrocheon Bridgetown Abbey beat
Two young anglers caught their First Ever Salmon today.
Tommy Daly (14 years)with a 4.5lb. on worms on Ballincurrig.
Adam Watkinson (UK) 16 years old. 5.5lb. on spinner on Carrig.
ProspectsThe water was just beginning to fine off nicely after the last flood. There is more heavy rain forecast for Thursday & Friday.
