Blackwater Lodge Newsletter - July 21, 2011
Best Day of the 2011 Season - July 20.
A total of 10 fish were caught for the day. Prolific runs of grilse & some salmon are running right through to the upper beats which is where we have had the best of the sport in the last week.
Yesterday, 5 were caught on fly, 4 on spinner & one on worms - all on upstream beats. One angler went to the river after 6.00pm and hooked 7 & landed 4 - all on the fly.

It was caught on spinner upriver by Kevin Reid from Aberdeenshire and sportingly released.
Today (21st.) I already know of at least 5 fish caught - of which 3 are First Ever Salmon!
Prospects are superb for the coming weekend & into next week.
The clarity on the upper beats is now at least 3 feet. The run of fish is a mixture of very well conditioned chunky grilse and some double figure salmon.
