30lb Plus Spring Salmon

 Hendersyde Salmon

FishTweed: The extra water at the beginning of the week encouraged a movement of fish making their way upstream with some fish caught as far up as St. Boswells fresh and sea liced. Tweed reported catches of 66 salmon up to 33lb and 16 sea trout last week, spread throughout the system from Boleside to Horncliffe. Mr Wayne Longstaff fishing Hendersyde last Saturday caught the largest fly caught spring salmon in Scotland so far this year. Latest FishTweed availability.

FishSpey: April always provides fish of real quality on the Spey and in terms of size this year certainly didn’t disappoint, with most beats recording fish of around the 20lb mark. Conditions have been favourable with catches spread from beats above Grantown down the length of the river. Visiting angler Mike Broadey from Corbridge caught four fish on his three day trip. The largest Spey fish so far is 29lb, and was caught on Delfur last month. Latest FishSpey availability.

FishDee: Recorded 70 fish for the week ending 3rd May. It was another challenging week for rods and ghillies with successful anglers using lines of varying densities to present the fly at different depths. Congratulations to Jerk Sonnichsen, President of the Fly Fishers of Denmark, fishing Ballogie last Monday caught nine springers with his biggest at 26lbs. Latest FishDee availability.

FishTay: Catches were maintained as the river dropped steadily and the weather continued to improve with a total of 108 salmon and grilse up to 27lbs and sea trout to 7lbs. A reasonable run of spring salmon continued on the river and there was the continued sign of some more bigger multi sea winter fish with more mid twenty pounds salmon landed. Latest FishTay availability.

Lochaber Fishing Now Available

 Lochaber on FishPal

For fishing as wild as the dramatic surrounding landscape.

The west coast of Scotland has some of the most varied and spectacular scenery to be found anywhere in Scotland. These rivers vary from being truly wild, unspoilt spate rivers that fish best on falling water following a rise in levels, to rivers such as the Lochy which will fish well at a variety of water heights.

Lochaber is not a land of calm water and docile fish. Getting here as you pass through Glen Coe or Glen Mhor you will realise this place is unique - untamed and with fish to match. For fishing with a sense of the untouched and the wild, Lochaber will reward you with superb game, course and sea fishing against a backdrop of the most magnificent scenery read more.
