FISHING REPORTS - June 14, 2016
LAKES
Rainbow Alley is still fishing but hasn't been that 'hot'. Round Lake had some action this past weekend; reports were the kids on the dock out-fished the boats on the lake! Both parties had lots of fun with nice rainbows being caught on the lake and mostly suckers caught off the dock. A beauty cutthroat was also caught trolling a leech pattern. Don't forget that Ross Lake has a nice casting dock and that as people rush to fish the rivers that are opening soon, the lakes remain a wonderful spot to catch smaller fish! Take your family out on Dennis Lake, Helen Lake, Morin Lake, Irrigation, etc, for some great times!
SALTWATER
Douglas Channel-- It has been very windy and many boats are staying home this past week. Those who make it out have been very impressed with the size of the Chinook being caught. Bottom fishing and crabbing has been great, and some Coho are already being caught.
Rupert- Fishing has been good. Bottom fishing is producing some nice halibut and rock fish. Some beauty Chinook have been caught and the odd Coho as well.
BABINE RIVER
Open this Thursday, June 16th! Get out there and try out a dry line, tapered leader, and stonefly imitations.
BULKLEY & MORICE RIVERS
Open this Thursday, June 16th! There is an early run of Chinook that come through on their way to the Morice. This is one of the few years that we will be able to fish for them! Water is low and clear, although at the time of writing it is currently raining, so that could change.
KISPIOX
Open this Thursday, June 16th!
KITIMAT
More and more Chinook being caught. Mostly between 15-25lbs. Water level below Hirsh Creek currently dropping to 1.15m but will most likely bump up a bit with the current rain. For a chance to win a Drift-boat Fishing Trip, sign up for Ron Wakita's fishing report: http://
SKEENA
For this time of year, the water is the best and warmest it has been in 77 years! Lots of people out Chinook fishing. Fish are definitely being caught but it has been slow. Water level at Usk has dropped to 5m, but current weather will bring it up a bit again.
